Sales Pitch Examples: 10 Winning Pitches You Can Steal Today

Real word-for-word scripts that get meetings, move deals, and close. No fluff.

Why Most Sales Pitches Fail

The average salesperson has about 10 seconds to earn the next minute. Most pitches burn that window on the wrong things. Here are the three failure modes that kill pitches before they start.

They Lead With Features

Most pitches open with what the product does — not why the prospect should care. Buyers switch off the moment they hear 'our platform enables…'. Lead with their problem, not your solution.

They Skip the Hook

You have 10 seconds to earn the next 30. Most pitches waste those seconds on company intros and pleasantries. No hook = no attention = no meeting.

One-Size-Fits-All

A cold email pitch sent to a VP of Sales shouldn't sound like one sent to a Marketing Director. Pitches that get replies are tailored to the channel, the role, and the problem — not copy-pasted.

The Anatomy of a Winning Sales Pitch

Every pitch in this guide follows the same four-part structure. Learn it once — apply it across every channel and situation.

1

Hook

Earn 30 seconds

Open with something unexpected — a stat, a sharp question, or a specific observation about their business. The hook earns you permission to continue. Without it, everything else is wasted.

2

Problem

Name the pain

Describe the problem so accurately they think you've been reading their emails. The best pitches make prospects say 'that's exactly it'. Don't sell the solution yet — just own the diagnosis.

3

Proof

One sharp stat or story

One sentence. One result. 'We helped [similar company] [specific outcome] in [timeframe].' Resist the urge to list five case studies — one sharp proof point lands harder than five vague ones.

4

CTA

Clear, specific ask

Don't ask 'does this sound interesting?' Ask for a specific next step. 15-minute call, a demo, a reply. Make it easy to say yes. The CTA should be the lowest-friction version of the next step possible.

10 Sales Pitch Examples

Ten word-for-word scripts covering every channel and situation. Steal them, adapt the variables in brackets, and send.

01

The Cold Email Pitch

For first-touch outreach to a prospect you've never spoken to. Keep it under 100 words. One CTA.

Script

Subject: [First name] — quick question about [Company]

Hi [First name],

Most [job title]s at [company type] are losing [X hours / $X revenue] each week because of [specific problem].

We helped [similar company] fix this in [timeframe] — [one-line result].

Worth 15 minutes to see if we can do the same for [Company]?

[Your name]
02

The LinkedIn DM Pitch

For LinkedIn connection requests or first DMs. Must fit in the preview pane — 300 characters or less for the opener.

Script

Hi [First name],

Noticed you're scaling [team/function] at [Company] — we've helped similar teams [specific outcome].

One thing we do differently: [key differentiator in a single sentence].

Would a quick call this week make sense? Happy to be brief.

[Your name]
03

The Cold Call Opener

For phone prospecting. You have 8 seconds before they decide to hang up. Lead with a pattern interrupt, not your company name.

Script

"Hi [First name] — I know this is a cold call, so I'll be quick.

I work with [job title]s at [company type] who are struggling with [specific problem].

Most of them tell me [key pain point in their own words].

I've got one idea that's worked well for companies like [reference company] — is that worth 2 minutes?"
04

The Elevator Pitch (60-second version)

For networking events, intro meetings, or any time someone asks 'what do you do?' Rehearse this until it's effortless.

Script

"We work with [target persona] at [company type] who are struggling with [core problem].

Most of them come to us after [common symptom — e.g. losing deals on price, pipeline running dry, ramp taking 6+ months].

What we do differently is [your key differentiator].

We helped [reference company] [specific result] — and that took [timeframe].

The companies we work with best are usually [ICP description].

Does that sound like it could be relevant?"
05

The Demo Request Pitch

For converting an interested prospect into a booked demo. Use after they've engaged with content, replied to outreach, or shown buying signals.

Script

Subject: Demo — [Company] + [Your company]

Hi [First name],

Based on [trigger: what they downloaded / replied to / clicked], it looks like [specific pain] might be on your radar.

I'd love to show you how we've helped [similar company] [specific result] — I think there's a direct application to [Company].

I can keep it tight — 20 minutes max. Would [Day] or [Day] work?

[Your name]
06

The Referral Pitch

When reaching out to a warm prospect via a mutual connection. The warmth is your asset — open with it immediately.

Script

Subject: [Mutual contact] suggested I reach out

Hi [First name],

[Mutual contact] mentioned you're dealing with [specific challenge] and thought we should connect.

We helped [mutual contact / similar company] [specific outcome] — and based on what [he/she] told me about [Company], I think there's a similar opportunity here.

Would a 20-minute call this week make sense?

[Your name]
07

The Follow-Up Pitch (after no reply)

For a second or third touch when your first email got ignored. Add a new angle — don't just bump the original.

Script

Subject: One more thing — [First name]

Hi [First name],

Following up on my last note. Before I move on, I wanted to share one thing:

[Insert a specific insight: a stat about their industry, a competitor move, or a relevant case study they haven't seen.]

[One sentence on why this is relevant to them specifically.]

Still think it's worth 15 minutes — but happy to hear a no if the timing is off.

08

The Re-Engagement Pitch (dormant prospect)

For prospects who went cold 3–6+ months ago. Acknowledge the gap, give them a new reason to re-engage. Don't pretend time hasn't passed.

Script

Subject: Checking back in — [Company]

Hi [First name],

We spoke back in [month] about [specific topic]. Things didn't move forward at the time — completely understand.

A lot has changed since then: [one sentence on what's new — your product update, a result you've achieved, or a shift in their market].

Given that, I thought it was worth reaching back out. Is this still something on your radar?

[Your name]
09

The Competitive Displacement Pitch

For prospects currently using a competitor. Don't attack — just open the door. You need one wedge, not a full rebuttal.

Script

Hi [First name],

I know you're working with [Competitor] — I'm not here to rubbish them. They do a solid job for certain types of businesses.

The reason I'm reaching out is that companies at [Company's stage/size] often find that [specific limitation of competitor] becomes a real constraint.

We've helped a few companies in that situation [specific outcome]. I just want 20 minutes to show you where we're different — if it's not a better fit, I'll say so.

Worth finding out?

10

The Price Objection Pitch

For when a prospect says 'it's too expensive' or 'we don't have budget'. Don't discount — reframe the value.

Script

"I hear you — and I want to make sure we're comparing the right things.

The question isn't whether [price] is a lot. The question is what it costs you to stay where you are.

Right now, [specific cost of the problem: time lost / revenue missed / risk]. That's not a one-time cost — that's [monthly/quarterly].

Based on what you told me, [your solution] should return [specific ROI or outcome] within [timeframe].

If that's right, the investment pays for itself in [X months]. Does that change how we're looking at the numbers?"

How to Customise Any Pitch

These 5 variables are what separate a pitch that converts from one that gets ignored. Swap them out for every prospect before you hit send or dial.

  • Name / Company: Swap in their first name and company name in every single touch. It's the minimum bar for personalisation — missing it kills credibility before you've started.
  • Pain Point: Replace the generic pain with one specific to their role, industry, or company stage. A VP of Sales and a Marketing Director have different problems — your pitch should reflect that.
  • Proof Stat: Swap in a result from a customer who looks like them: same industry, same size, same role. 'We helped a 50-person SaaS team' lands harder than 'we helped a company' for every 50-person SaaS prospect.
  • CTA: Match the ask to the stage. Cold email: 15-minute call. After a demo: proposal review. Stalled deal: one specific decision. Don't ask for the same thing at every stage.
  • Channel: The same message shouldn't go on LinkedIn and in an email. DMs are shorter, more conversational. Emails can carry slightly more detail. Phone requires zero reading — it has to work out loud.
